Modern Vintage

I've been quite a collector of vintage clothing for years, and I have so many statement pieces that I just adore. This is the latest to my closet, and normally I find dresses harder to shop for because of either the hemline or shape, but this floral beauty fit so perfectly. Its just perfect for summer!

I've been quite a collector of vintage clothing for years, and I have so many statement pieces that I just adore. This is the latest to my closet, and normally I find dresses harder to shop for because of either the hemline or shape, but this floral beauty fit so perfectly. Its just perfect for summer! When shopping for a vintage pieces I keep a few things in mind. First, try to stay with pieces that are still on trend. Fashion repeats itself over the years, in fact most contemporary is really a representation of styles from the past, it's almost surprising with how many designers look to vintage garments for inspiration. Second, I try to accessorize using more modern pieces, for instance shoes, sunglasses, or purse. Its an easy way to add a modern twist with a vintage piece. Lastly, mixing olds and new. This is my favorite way to play around with statement vintage clothing, especially if you're just starting to mix vintage into your wardrobe. Mixing and matching is so easy to do, and it makes your look completely unique, as well as taking a special fancier vintage piece into a everyday wearable look.
I look this vintage dress and added a bedazzled collared shirt, playing around with different textures. Like everything else with fashion just have fun with it!
